- Worth the Wait Betsy Carter 5:12
The Lord gave me this song before I lost a dear loved one and it means so much to me. It is such a comfort and I have used it at funerals. It is so easy to become battle weary and tired in this life. And sometimes it’s almost scorned by modern day preachers to look forward to Heaven. They seem to be focused on this life, which is great and good and needed. But I gain great strength and comfort in the knowledge that there will come a day and a place where all will be made right. Where I will hug my beloved friends and family that I miss and where I will finally see my Jesus and understand all that’s been going on! No more worries, no more pain or sickness and praise God no more death and separation!! Saints can be ready to go and they long for the “graduation”. I believe I will be like that when the Lord comes for me.
LYRICS:
A great a gulf lies between us
And the ones who’ve gone before
Our loved ones
And especially our Lord
And the waiting’s getting harder
Through each battle-weary year
For we’re longing for the end
Of grief and tears
But when we’ll stand before Him
With all our battles won
And hear Him say well done
It will be worth the wait
Worth all the pain
On that day beyond compare
When we join our loved ones there
It will be worth the wait
Worth all our pain
For our great reward
Is to be with our Lord
Our sorrows will all vanish
As we gaze upon the Lamb
In the Presence of the
Holy great I Am
And our glad hearts overflow
As a song begins to grow
In worship of the Father
On His throne
And as we kneel before Him
Casting down our crowns
The swell of Hallelujah resounds
And it will be worth the wait
Worth all the pain
When we join the glorious praise
Of the Ancient of Days
It will be worth the wait
Worth all our pain
For our great reward
Is to be with our Lord
