I believe we should worship on our own, when we are alone, as well as worship in a group setting. Our personal time of worship empowers our corporate worship times. Especially true when you are a worship leader. Even Jesus took times away, alone, to commune with His Father. And we should have the Lord as our only object of worship, not other people, things, money, or ourselves and our desires. That’s the heart of where this song came from: a desire to express that worship that God jealously holds as the lover of my soul. I have a deep desire to one day see Jesus’ face and I pray my lifestyle reflects that pursuit, especially my worship life.
