Supernatural Paradox

  1. Supernatural Paradox Betsy Carter 4:30

Paradox: Websters definition includes “a self-contradictory statement or proposition; a person or thing that seems to possess contradictory qualities and is thus inexplicable or inscrutable; enigma. If Satan could’ve recognized the truth of the power of love, the overwhelming victory of gentleness and vulnerability he would never have killed Jesus. The people expected a King in a palace, and He came to a manger. His followers couldn’t understand why He went to the cross. We today still cannot fully comprehend the paradox of death being conquered through death, of sin’s power being broken by sacrifice, of a tiny infant coming in humility buying us our eternal life. It doesn’t make sense. Whoever loses this life, shall find it. If Satan had only realized he would not have killed the King of glory. I LOVE this song, and used it as part of a Christmas presentation with three other sopranos. It’s thrilling to sing!
A supernatural paradox
Without firing any shots
The greatest battle ever won
Began with an infant Son
Joy to the world
Joy to the world
Joy to the world
Joy to the world
Joy to the world
Joy to the world
What secret wisdom
Who would guess
Conquer sin through gentleness
For with the newborn Jesus’ breath
Was born the power over death
Such Godly wisdom who could know
Love would be the final blow
Joy to the world…
Joy, joy, joy, joy…
