It seems counter intuitive: if you make someone free from guilt and shame, and breathe new life into them so that a new creature is born that never existed before, then come and make your residence within their spirit and walk with them every day from then on, no matter what they do, then that person is going to be free to sin, right? I mean, they’ll sin like crazy because they are forgiven and saved by grace, not by works, right? But the strange thing is that the power of sin over them is broken. The new creation and the Holy Spirit resident within will not permit them to continue in sin. And sin doesn’t appeal to them if they are truly born again. This can be a hotly contested belief within the Christian community, but I am convinced by study in His Word that it’s true. He saves us and keeps us and we are free from the fear of condemnation. We have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba Father. PRAISE GOD FOREVER!!!!! I want to love and serve someone so generous, so good, so caring! I have no desire to sin.
