This song was inspired by the incredible words of Jesus Christ to be of good cheer. In this world we have tribulation. Ain’t it the truth! Sometimes it’s extremely difficult. But because He has overcome the world, we can too through Him. Through His life in us, we can come through tough challenges. The joy of the Lord is our strength and if we can learn to “have cheer” when we don’t feel like it, we can experience His overcoming. There is coming a day when He will bring it all to a close and He will make it all right. I draw great comfort from that truth and in the day-to-day I trust Him to help my outlook and attitude. This song is used in the musical drama “Dear Master” and in “The Second Day” presentation, referencing the Jesus character.
